James Franklyn Shotton 1890- ??

Born in Brooklyn, James Franklyn grew up in the Flatbush area. He was the only child of Thomas Shotton a glass cutter who owned his own shop in Brooklyn. His mother was Martha and though her maiden name is not confirmed, it is believed to be Millar.

The exact date of James' marriage to Grace Sawyer is unknown but is between 1920 and 1924. A strange entry in 1920 Census at 215 Lenox Avenue shows James T. (could be F) age 29 born New York manager at Glass Works with wife named Irene A. age 24 born New York. I speculate that Irene is actually Grace although Grace is also listed as living with her parents in the same census.
