Grace Sawyer 1895-1991
Grace Anna Sawyer was the daughter of Joseph F. Sawyer and Julia Matilda Meigs. She wab born on 2 February 1895 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. She was the third child of seven and was
probably born at the family home at 220 Martense Street in Flatbush. Grace had one child, a son, Franklyn Meigs Shotton, and his middle name is from her mother, Julia. The tradition
of using Meigs as a middle name has carried on through the Geoffrey Shotton family, son of Franklyn.
Grace lived a long life. She lived in Bennington, Vermont for many years near her son and his family.
